Digital Sales Executive (Inside Sales)
Job Description
The candidate will market and sell conceptual raw materials to the cosmetic and personal care industry. The accounts to be virtually called on are located in the West and South Regions. The Digital Sales Executive will call on bench chemists, research and development teams, marketing and product development, industry consultants. Ideal position for candidates seeking to make the transition from research and/or product development into a commercial sales role.
Responsibilities
- Increase Sales of Digital Accounts
- Ability to focus and achieve yearly objectives and long-term goals, both strategic and financial
- Manage digital accounts within assigned territory.
- Increase Barnet’s share at digital customers by successfully placing new products and programs.
- New Customer Development
- Follow up on inquiries from new potential customers, Factory Partner, Barnet Website and UL Prospector leads.
- Convert leads/prospects into buying customers.
- Prospect for new customers; leads may also be generated from external lead sources (ex. UL Prospector, Barnet Products website)
- Develop relationships with new customer base. If customer is developed, it may be passed to an outside sales rep that can provide in-person visits depending on size and scope.
- Sales Call Outline
- Review previous sales notes, account goals, sampling, and sales activity prior to customer calls.
- Meet with customers virtually to sell targeted ingredients.
- Follow up with customers after submitting samples (if sending samples of systems, follow up with formulation guidelines and offer formulation support from our lab)
- Provide samples, literature, and library formulations as needed.
- Knowledge of product lines
- Understand/present active ingredients.
- Understand/present emulsifiers/surfactants as part of our System Formers
- Understand/present trends/concepts to research & development, product development and marketing teams
- Build Relationships
- Build relationships with research chemists, PD, Marketing and purchasing agents at assigned accounts.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the cosmetic industry; prior R&D/product development experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Entrepreneurial, results driven professional that is capable of multi-tasking with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Highly organized and pays attention to detail.
- Candidate needs to be comfortable interacting in a virtual environment
- A people person who is comfortable presenting to customers and able to generate new business.
- Can function independently but also can be collaborative and part of a team.
- Able to meet sales goals and expectations.
- College Degree with specialization in science (Biology, Biochemistry) is nice to have.
